The client wanted a game that focused on speed, even the game had to load fast, Mode provided not only the game development services but also the hosting services to ensure the games performance exceeded expectations. During the campaign the game had up to 20K unique plays per day to a total of 500K+ during the entire campaign localised to target market of Australia.

Attack Of The Oz Monsters

Combine weapons take down monsters

Attack of the Ozmonsters is a turn-based strategy fighting game set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The goal is to fight back against the Ozmonsters and ensure the survival of a small squad of characters. Each character has their own set of weapons and equipment so players must strategically select the best gear for their characters for each battle. The HQ is where players will be able to craft weapons from blueprints they collect throughout the game. Players can also communicate with the battle command computer to locate Ozmonsters and get tips for the battles to help them to win.

As players move through the levels defeating the Ozmonsters they will be rewarded with new weapons. These can then be combined to make new weapons that are more powerful and even more ridiculous. Take a gas canister gun and poison bombs and turn it into a fart launcher to stink your enemies to death. Start collecting exploding bombs and fribees and fuse them to make the Fris-Boom.

Players will face beasts from three different categories – there’s the downright ridiculous Ozmonsters like the burping Wom-bat, the horrid Ozmonsters like the horned Whino and then there’s the evil boss birds who control it all. As the game continues players will accumulate better weapons, extra armour and more power to help them wipe out the Ozmonsters and save the world to ultimately defeat King Kook. Each week players are invited to watch Disney XD every Friday from 6pm AEST to spot the weekly code word to unlock special weapon blueprints.

We created a range of simple but fun multiplayer games to give the fans of Farm Town a selection mini-games to play. These games are intended to be played while players waited for crops to be ready for harvest so they have actions to keep them engaged in the game. Cowboys Vs Pirates

The Quick and The Undead

Fight with Harry Hotdog in two fun game modes: Story and Multiplayer Battle on the worlds most popular web gaming portals Armor Games and  Nickelodeon’s Addicting Games.

Harry Hotdog never believed the myths and legends told of the Dead Man’s Curse Saloon. He thought it was just a good way to draw the crowds. They also serve the best darn whiskey in all the territory and more importantly, let him run a tab. It’s a crying shame that it turns out the stories are true. Underneath the saloon, a whole mob of pirates were buried, and they’ve come back to life. Hungry for brains and thirsty for rum. But Harry Hotdog ain’t giving up his favourite watering hole without a fight…

Story mode introduces the first chapter of this epic fight for survival: ‘The Quick and The Undead.’ There are 32 stages of fast and furious shoot ‘em up fun. As well as your trusty six-shooter, you’ll find a host of different weapons to take down the relentless dead. These include the spinning fury of the saw-disc-gun and the ever faithful boom-stick. Collect loot and search for treasure to buy upgrades to your stats and weapons.

Multiplayer Battle allows you to compete against up to 5 online players to see who’s the meanest zombie pirate slayer in town. There are 3 different challenge modes, 8 different arenas and 3 levels of difficulty depending on how lily-livered you are! Special pick-ups are available which can really mess up the opposition. The best gunslingers get to improve their stats and work their way up on the global high scores list.

Played by 5 million+ players

With a player average rating between 3.5 and 4.5 stars. Count-less positive reviews can be read on in the comment feeds within Armor and Addiciting games postal sites. Cowboys Vs Pirates was a game we thoroughly enjoyed making, here is what some of our players told us directly!

UNSW Engineering Physics

STEM learning with Jenga physics

In collaboration with UNSW and Science educators from Reaction Media, we developed a STEM learning game. The game, intended as one of a series of games for UNSW, was built with the specific purpose to teach a principal of engineering to first year engineering students. The game and future games will also be used as marketing tools to pre-tertiary education students.

The game is built with a bespoke HTML5 game engine and makes use of Web Audio API and Box2D for JS.  Building it in HTML5 allowed the game to be played on any device, adapting its resolution to the device it’s played on.

The initial games design is a variation on the popular block game ‘Jenga’. It challenges students to maintain the structural integrity of the tower, under a set level, while attempting to remove a fixed number of blocks. A status is awarded to the player depending on the amount of structural shift of the blocks in the tower while removing the blocks. There are ten stages in total which are designed to be exciting but short, and challenging to complete.

Physics + HTML5 = Awesome

This project is built with Modes bespoke HTML5 game engine with the worlds most popular open source JS libraries such as PIXI and Box2D. The result an amazing cross platform game playable on almost any web enabled device.
