We developed a simple but very addictive HTML5 game to promote the Optus services with our friends at Amobee. The campaign features the fastest man in the world Usain Bolt promoted on Snap Chat and Facebook. The game allows you to run at the speed of bolt on all mobile and desktop platforms. The player’s goal is to maintain your speed by collecting speed and building this up to unleash Bolt Speed for maximum points.

A fast social advertising game within a budget

We developed this simple game idea with the restrictions of a thin brief, a short time frame/budget for one of the worlds largest Media Agencies Amobee. The client wanted a game that focused on speed, even the game had to load fast, Mode provided not only the game development services but also the hosting services to ensure the games performance exceeded expectations. During the campaign the game had up to 20K unique plays per day to a total of 500K+ during the entire campaign localised to target market of Australia.

Attack Of The Oz Monsters

Combine weapons take down monsters

Attack of the Ozmonsters is a turn-based strategy fighting game set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The goal is to fight back against the Ozmonsters and ensure the survival of a small squad of characters. Each character has their own set of weapons and equipment so players must strategically select the best gear for their characters for each battle. The HQ is where players will be able to craft weapons from blueprints they collect throughout the game. Players can also communicate with the battle command computer to locate Ozmonsters and get tips for the battles to help them to win.

As players move through the levels defeating the Ozmonsters they will be rewarded with new weapons. These can then be combined to make new weapons that are more powerful and even more ridiculous. Take a gas canister gun and poison bombs and turn it into a fart launcher to stink your enemies to death. Start collecting exploding bombs and fribees and fuse them to make the Fris-Boom.

Players will face beasts from three different categories – there’s the downright ridiculous Ozmonsters like the burping Wom-bat, the horrid Ozmonsters like the horned Whino and then there’s the evil boss birds who control it all. As the game continues players will accumulate better weapons, extra armour and more power to help them wipe out the Ozmonsters and save the world to ultimately defeat King Kook. Each week players are invited to watch Disney XD every Friday from 6pm AEST to spot the weekly code word to unlock special weapon blueprints.

Crazy turn based fighting fun for Disney XD

We developed this simple game idea with the restrictions of a thin brief, a short time frame/budget for one of the worlds largest IPs Disney with promotion and marketing with The Hallway. We tailored our game design to fit with Disney requirements to combine elements of their existing IPs with new elements created for the Oz Monsters world.

Drone copter rescue delivery

We developed a simple but very addictive HTML5 game to promote the Little Ripper Life Saver Rescue with our friends at DDB and  Westpac. The Little Ripper is a remote controlled drone copter making a big difference in the safety of Aussie lives from the beach to the bush. The game we developed was designed for use in schools to educate kids on The Little Ripper. The game allows you to take control of the Little Ripper on mobile and desktop platform, the goal is to deliver rescue packages within three distinct terrain environments the bush, sea and mountains.

Climb A Virtual Wall With Your Hands

This game was developed for the 2015 Leap Motion Game Jam competition. The brief only had the requirement to make the very best use of the awesome Leap Motion technology with VR if we liked. We made sure our entry focused on an innovative game mechanic that could only be experienced with this unique tech. The game allows players to climb a virtual wall to conquer a mountain. The player achieves this safely but sill under pressure by using their actual hands with no controllers required! The player has to time the poses of their hands to latch onto grips to help swing an avatar from climb grip to climb grip. Fail to get your timing just right, and watch as you fall hilariously to your death. Complete with bone cracking and spine-tingling animations. Leap Mountain is probably the most unforgiving, challenging and fun game made for Leap Motion, try it out.

Our game concept was featured as part of a series of innovative entries for Leap Motion this year.

Hand IR sensor detection devices

This project uses the latest update to the Leap Motion – Orion. Leap Motion is a tiny magical box that delivers a high degree of precision and tracking of hands and fingers. This allows developing games with a unique interaction concept allowing us to develop innovative VR and augmented reality games.
